Founded in 1992, Andamiro is among the oldest Korean game companies in existence today. Back when the company was still called Oksan - the name change to Andamiro came in 19991 - it was more prolific as a distributor rather than a developer, though. In September 1999, however, the nature of the company changed when they released Pump it Up, Asia's most popular Bemani-inspired series. Konami was not amused about the games' similarity to their own Dance Dance Revolution series and sued, but the court decided against the claim of plagiarism2, so "Pump" continued, outliving even its Japanese progenitor. Today Andamiro remains the only Korean arcade game maker that still develops actual video games besides strictly mechanical games and gambling machines - even if the majority of them are Pump it Up updates.
