Emulation |
| Unless you're the proud owner of an NEC
PC-8801, a Sharp X68000 or a Fujitsu FM-TOWNS/Marty, the only way you'll
be playing Emerald Dragon this millennium is probably through emulation.
For those unfamiliar with emulation, basically it's a program that lets
programs for other machines work on your computer by interpreting the
other machine's code. Using it doesn't require understanding it -- lucky you. I've posted the disk sets for the X68000, PC-88, PC-98 and MSX2 versions of Emerald Dragon. Rodrigo Shin has provided a link for an ISO+MP3 version of the FM-TOWNS port. I will not post the PC-Engine CD or the SFAM ROM. If you want to play those versions, buy them. Read the install.txt in each zip for information on installing and using the disks. The FM-TOWNS version does not include an install.txt. To run this version, grab the latest UNZ, grab the BIOS ROMS from JCEC and put them in the UNZ folder, mount or burn the CD-ROM. Run UNZ, in the options, set up your CD-ROM drive (ASPI is flakey, use Direct-IO), and pick the drive with Emerald Dragon in it. Put the System Disk in Drive 1, and reboot the emulator (File->Reset).
