Vampyre ~ Return From the Grave
The Year of Our Lord 2016 ~ England

Into each generation a chosen one is born: one person on each continent with the strength and skill to combat the dark forces, to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their numbers.  Into darkness they were born, out of darkness they shall lead…they are the slayers.
In the beginning, there was no paradise.  After Adam and Eve committed original sin, demons flourished throughout the world.  Some were of a species, others, one of a kind.  Among these demons, there were siblings.  Theisan, Daggom, and Thessala.  Each created a magical sphere.  The orb of Theisan could raise the dead in the form of zombies.  The Daggomsphere was meant to repel another creature, of which you will learn later.  Last but certainly not least, the orb of Thessala was meant to bring vampires back from the grave.  This orb was of immense power, and now the slayers must face it.  Not even God knows what destruction may come.
A year after the battle with Count Vlad Dracula, everything had already been back to normal.  The Rahi were defeated, and of course, the slayers faced many more vampires.  None were too powerful, but some were a challenge.  The consul discovered all the destructive magical orbs and sealed them in a vault.  One night, a well-known English scientist broke into the vault, and stole the orb of Thessala.
The phone rang at John's apartment in New York City.  Kristina picked up (she and John live together).
"Hello?"" She said while putting on a silver necklace for the company dinner she and John were invited to.
         "Kris?" Conselor Madden asked.
"Yeah who is this?" She asked, looking at her watch.
         "Nick." He responded.
"Nick who?  I don't know any Nicks." She said with an attitude.
"Nick Madden.  Don't you recognize my voice?"
         "Uh…no."
         "Why?"
"Cuz' I haven't seen you in like a year."
"Who is it?" John asked while hopping in the room, putting his shoe on his foot.
         "Nick Madden."
"Oh…" He responded with a dazed look on his face.
"Okay Nick, what do you want?  I have an important dinner to be at in…" She took another look at her watch. "A half an hour."
"We have a problem.  This guy, we still don't know who he is, stole the orb of Thessala."
"And why do I care?" She sarcastically asked.
"Because, the orb of Thessala has the power to raise a vampire, and to raise that vampire, you'd need a personal item of theirs'.  Now, if you're still following, this guy was seen taking a brick from Castlevania.  The home of Dracula.  Am I hitting a nerve here?"  Madden continued.
"And do you think I care now?"  Kristina asked.
           "You do, you're the slayer."
"So, as usual, you and Howard are preparing for some shizo vampire; in this case Dracula, to unleash hell on earth?"
"Exactly!!  You have a week to prepare, then you'll go and stop this psycho."
"Okay." Kristina reluctantly agreed while looking at her watch, "I gotta' run." She hung up the phone.
"What would you like?" The waitress at the dinner asked Kristina.
"I'll have the spaghetti with the…calamari." She answered while looking at the menu. "John, what are you having?"
"I'll have the same." He calmly answered, knowing that something was wrong.
"Okay." The waitress said in an irritating voice.
"What's wrong?" John asked before sipping from a glass of water.
"What do you mean?" Kristina responded with a still look on her face.
"Madden called.  Something's gotta' be wrong." He lightheartedly answered with a glib look on his face.
"Oh.  He thinks that someone is gonna' try and raise Dracula."  She began looking over to John's supervisor's table.
            "Who?"
            "I dunno, some scientist guy."
            "Why?"
"I don't know.  Probly to prove something to science I guess."
John's boss got up on stage in an intoxicated manner. "I'd just like to say to my wife,"
Kristina glanced over to the table she had been looking at.  The drunken man's wife put her hand over her chest and seemed to be sobbing with joy.
"I'd just like to say," The drunken man repeated, "My wife is the fattest f---in' thing I've ever seen!  Come on everybody!  Sing it!!  Mr. Vandorough's wife is a fat f-k!"
Kristina glanced back at his wife, who seemed very offended.  Her joy soon grew to anger.  She threw down her cloth and ran into the bathroom.
John broke out in a fit of laughter, he never expected his boss, the most sober person in the world, to do such a thing.
"Honey," John had just gotten out of the shower and put on a robe. "Kristina, we've known each other for about five years now, right?"
"Yeah." She answered while putting on a shirt and walking out of the bedroom. "Why?"
"And we only started dating last year because of Dracula."
"Yeah." Kristina started laughing. "You probably asked me out cause I was the only woman around."
"Yeah, that might be why…but in the last year, gettin' to know you has been the best time of my life, and I wanna' ask you something.  Kristina Marie Lawrence," John got down on one knee, "Will you marry me?"
"Yes." Kristina's eyes began to tear. "Now I wanna' ask you, no give you something." She took him by the hand and dragged him back into the bedroom and closed the door.
John woke up to the smell of eggs flowing through the apartment.  He turned over to the other side of the pillow, where Kristina had been before.  He put on a robe and walked out of the bedroom, into the living room, then into the kitchen.
        "Watcha' makin?" He asked.
"Eggs." She responded while flipping an egg.
John walked over to the Plexiglas doors to the terrace and slid them open.  He gazed out onto the glowing horizon of the early morning.  Kristina followed him out onto the terrace.  Out of nowhere, the earth shook with tremendous force, and the heavens distorted to a horrific black.  John grabbed Kristina's hand, rushed indoors, and slammed the door shut.  A pair of enormous red eyes gazed down upon the city, focusing on the two slayers.  It let out a menacing laugh, and was sucked back into nothingness, from whence it came.
"I'm goin' to England early!!  This is it!!" Kristina thundered while stomping into the bedroom.
"Hello?" William asked while opening the window, looking out from his apartment.
"Will, you feel that?" Kristina asked over the static phone.
"Yeah, what was that?" He asked again, looking over to Kristina's building, which was visible.
"I think that was our little vampire friend." She said.
       "Cleff?" William asked.
"No, Dracula.  And I have some news!" Kristina began yelling at the top of her lungs.
       "What is it?" William wondered.
"Me and John are getting married!" She began jumping up and down.
       "When did he ask you?"
       "Last night."
       "Oh."
"Oh, by the way, what's Jay's number?" Kristina asked.
       "867-5309" He responded.
"Okay.  Now, what's the num…?" She began asking.
"Kris!!  Who is CMVampyre?"  John yelled from the background.
       "Nick Madden.  Why?" Kristina answered.
"He's IMing me online and making me guess who he is."
"Jesus God in heaven." Kristina sighed. "That man really has no life…hold on a sec Will.  John, look at his profile." She soon began reading what was on the screen, "'Member name: Slayer, Location: On a hellmouth, Hobbies: Slaying vampires, hangin' out wit my friends John, Will, Jason and Kristina, chasing down vampires and such.' Will you heard that?  Wait; listen to his quote- 'The day that the guardians cease to protect let Heaven rain from the sky'.  Will I'm telling you; this man needs some serious help.  Oh, d-mn, the oatmeal's ready…I gotta' go.  I'll talk to you later.  Bye."
A helicopter dropped William, John, Kristina, and Jason outside Castle Dracula.  It lie in ruins, some of the structure still stand.  After John and Kristina had defeated the Count, the castle somewhat decayed, and disappeared into an alternate dimension to be rebuilt.  Some of it had been rebuilding, little by little, an indication that the return of the dark prince was near.
"Well, this was a waste." Jason said while pulling out his sword and jumping over a mound of bricks.
"Yup." William agreed as he followed.
John looked over the cliff on which the castle stood.  He grabbed Kristina's hand and put his hand around her waist and began kissing her.  William looked back through the hole in the wall.
"Would you guys stop makin' out for two seconds and come in here?" He sarcastically said.
The two drew out their weapons and followed the others from the daylight to the dark inner sanctum of the dreaded Castlevania.
Somewhere in London, about three miles from Carfax Abbey, Asian slayer Bruce Chan, searched for a different monster; Frankenstein.
The slayer walked around the corner in the dark, gloomy mansion.  The monster was tall and lanky.  He had shoulder length straw-like brown hair, a long brown ripped trench coat, and finally, tattered calfskin pants.
Chan pulled out an axe and began assault on the monster.  He leaped into the air and thrust his feet simultaneously into its torso, not budging him at all.  The monster; in reaction, swatted Chan aside like an insect.
"Do not waste my time." The monster calmly laughed while leaving the room.
Back at Castlevania, the group found nothing.  Kristina walked slowly up the steps to the castle keep, which she remembered all to well.  It was in shackles.  The banquet table lay broken in half, the windows shattered, and the throne distorted.
Down in the lower tower, John did a little exploring for himself.  There was a gaping hole in the wall, looking out past the balcony.  A few feet away, only one brick was missing.  On the neighboring brick, inscribed were the words, "e young boy Malus, a boy cruelly…" then, across the bottom it read, "einhardt Schneider.  Should these bricks be used with the Thessalan orb, the Dark Lord shall be brought forth into this body…"
John yelled down into the banquet hall for Jason and William.  They both drew their swords and ran up the steps.
Soon, Jason, and William read what was inscribed.
"Holy sh-t," William sighed, "This is what this guy's gonna do.  I'll call Madden."
"So he's going to be raised into a different body?" Madden asked over the static of the cell phone.
"Yeah." William answered while rereading the inscriptions. "Who's Einhardt Schneider?"
"I have no clue." Madden honestly responded.
"I know who he is…" Kristina explained.
         "Who then?" William asked.
"Him and this girl Carrie Fernandez killed Dracula when he was raised into this guy Malus' body."
"Okay, you hear that?" William asked Madden.
"Yeah," He responded. "I'll call you when I find something out."
         "Alright, later."
Kristina, John, William, and Jason traveled to England after receiving a call from Conselor Benson, telling them that the Frankenstein monster was there, as well as the group that was trying to raise Dracula.
At Carfax Abbey, a resurrection ceremony was being detained.  Victor Frankenstein placed the brick from Castlevania on a table, along with the orb of Thessala and the brambles of Lethara.
Victor began a chant, "Sien artafalic revlis tsoh yvi hyll!! Acin nom pelis!!"
"Not really!!" Jason walked in with a sword in hand.
"Yes really." Victor said while eyeing where the orb lay.  A green ray of energy shot from the orb to the floor.  A body appeared; it was a featureless body of sand. "See?"
"Don't think so." Kristina walk in with a long wooden pole.  A grouping of vampires came into sight.  William and John hurried in to assist the other two slayers.  There were about seven vampires, an easy undertaking for them.  John began combat with one, Jason with another, and William with the leader: Victor Frankenstein.  Before Kristina could join in the fight, Bruce Chan strolled in and lent a hand.
"Look at the little damsel in distress." One of the vampires whispered while he began looking at Kristina.
"I heard that." Kristina said.  She kicked him in the face and did a spiraling kick to his head, knocking him flat on his back. "Now who's the damsel in distress?"
          "Me?"
"Straight up." Kristina furiously forced a stake through his heart.
The sandy Dracula walked toward Kristina.
"Now you want a piece of me?" She assumed while drawing her stake back in defense.
The unfinished Malus swung at Kristina but she blocked his punch, twisted his arm back, and gave him a chop to the side of the head.
Across the room, Victor saw that the newly raised vampire was in trouble, but was powerless to help him, as he had a slayer to face as well.
"Etu may fuentute say!!" This was the one thing Victor could do: finish the spell.
The sand Malus quickly took a final shape.  This different form of Dracula had brown spiked hair, pale white skin, a long blue overcoat, calfskin pants, and civil war-ish boots.
"You're cute." Kristina said to Malus as if she were dealing with a whole different vampire than what she faced a year earlier.
"Thank you." He gratefully responded. "But I still have not forgotten what you did to me."
"Neither have I." She tranquilly persisted.
Malus (Whenever I say Malus for the rest of the story, I'm referring to Dracula, otherwise I'll call him Dracula.) grabbed Kristina by the arms and began kissing her.  John, who had just killed the vampire he was fighting, raced over to Malus.  He stopped kissing Kristina and dispersed into smoke.
William tackled Victor to the floor and thrust his head against the stone cold brick.
               "Who are you?!" William questioned.
               "Victor Frankenstein." The vampire snarled.
"How are you still alive?" William continued.
"I have my methods." Victor answered.
               "You're a vampire, aren't you?"
"Get off!!" Victor yelled while throwing William off of his backside.
Malus appeared in front of Kristina, gave her a small kiss on the lips, and gazed up at the ceiling.  It blew open.  Malus dispersed into smoke and dragged Victor through the hole in the roof.
John was losing to one of the group members.  Suddenly, the whole mansion shook.  All the vampires fled the mansion and followed Malus.
"What's going on here?" Kristina scratched her head. "Let's go to the hotel, I've got a feeling we're going to need help."
At the hotel, William called Conselor Howard Benson and put him on speakerphone.
"Why is Frankenstein's creator raising Dracula?" William asked his Conselor.
"Maybe because the Frankenstein monster killed Victor's wife, it seems like a probable reason, don't you think?" As usual, the Conselor came up with an ingenious answer. "But, if you recall the story, Victor died at the end of hypothermia.  So I don't see how he's still alive…"
"Vampire!!" Kristina yelled from the background while she spread some mayonnaise over a slice of bread.
"Okay…" William shrugged, "So you think he's going to try to get revenge on the monster?"
"Precisely." The Conselor calmly responded. "William, I've got to go.  Bye."
"Bye." William hung up the phone as he heard a shriek of horror coming from the lobby.
He pulled out his sword and rushed to the lobby.  The Frankenstein monster had just bent the bellhops' arm inward, giving him a compound fracture.
"I knew that would get your attention." The monster snarled at William.
"Of course it would a-hole." He walked down the steps slowly with his sword. "Why don't you use that new little invention called the telephone if you wanted to get my attention."
"Don't know your number." The monster laughed.
William thrust his sword into its heart.
           "No pain." The monster commented.
William dashed for the monster and jump-kicked him in the face.
"No pain." The monster repeated while pulling the sword out of his chest.
William began walking backwards in a fighting stance while John and Kristina dashed frantically down the stairs into the lobby.
"Why do you have to come here and bother us?" William queried.
"You were with my creator last night, you must die." The monster answered.
The door blew open as a grayish colored smoke flowed in.
"Dracula." Kristina whispered to herself as she pulled out her knife.
The dark vampire glanced over to the Frankenstein monster, then over to John.
"Why are you here?!" The monster shouted to Malus out of curiosity.
"Revenge." Malus whispered to himself while looking at Kristina.
Malus telekinetically lifted John up into the air, then the monster smacked him aside like a fly.
"This is not your fight beast!!" Malus' eyes turned a glowing crimson red, and the monster went flying into a shelf behind the main desk.
William sliced at Malus' head with his sword.  The seemingly youthful vampire vanished into a blur of smoke.  The security guards, who had been knocked out, rushed in.
Malus reappeared in front of them.
"What are you?" One of the security guards asked in disbelief.
"The bane of your existence." Malus calmly said.
The guards went soaring back into the flight of steps behind them.
"Oh, that's real nice…a room full of slayers, and you're going to pick on the little security guards." William challenged Malus. "Just like you.  Oh yeah, I forgot…that's the way you filth work.  You always prey on people that can't defend themselves."
"I will not take lip from a lowly slayer." Malus said. He dispersed into smoke and disappeared through the front door.  The monster lay knocked out on the floor.
William and the others left for Carfax Abbey to find Malus.  He and Victor were there.
Kristina walked into the main chamber with William, John, and Jason.  Malus stood next to the table.
"We'll put you back in your grave again." John said as he walked toward Dracula.  He raised his dagger, ready to fight.
The gang (with Victor Frankenstein) came up behind William and Kristina and held them down.  As one was about to grab John, Dracula signaled with his hand and the vampire desisted.
"I wish to fight him unaccompanied." Malus decided.
"You won't win this!" Kristina screamed. "We'll stop you again!"
        "Silence!!" Malus commanded.
Malus kicked John in the face and held him by the throat.  John, while in the air, kicked the vampire in the groin and jumped out of his grasp.
"Now you pay!" Malus' eyes turned crimson red, sending John soaring into the stone wall behind him. "However powerful you thought you were, forget it!  You're dead!!" He punched John in the gut.
William and Kristina watched as a few of the vampires hauled in a large stone lion statue.  Another one brought in the Alcarde spear.  The statue contained the soul of Akathla, a demon who tried to swallow earth into hell.  The vampire lay the spear down in front of the statue.
"Akathla!!  Demon of the scorned!!  I call thee out!!  With thy power thee may smite the righteous!!  With thy rebirth may the skies darken and the earth shake, the fires rage and the suffering increase!!"
Kristina looked out the window to see the sky blackening, and lightning flash.  The inanimate lion's mouth opened, releasing Akathla upon the world.
It was large; with brown hair covering it's entire body.  It's eyes seemed hateful, with razor sharp teeth to back them up.
"What year is it?" The demon questioned in a deep thunderous voice.
"The year four thousand nine hundred ninety-nine, my Lord." Malus responded.
The demon laughed, "Master's ascension is near.  Unless I accomplish his bidding before that glory hound Intermar does."
        "Yes my Lord." Malus agreed.
With Bruce Chan leading them, a group of consul soldiers busted in.  They slew all the members of the gang, not including Victor Frankenstein and Malus.  Jason, who had gone to get help, had taken William's sword of Akathla.  He ran at Malus and thrust it at him.  Malus dodged it and backhanded Jason in the face.
"Come on," Jason asked, "what was that?"
He kicked Malus in the face with his right leg and kicked him in the ribs with his left leg.  Kristina came from behind and kicked him in the groin.  The dark prince collapsed to the ground unconscious.
Akathla walked slowly toward Kristina.  Knowing he was coming she told Jason to toss her the sword.
"Girl," the demon spoke in a deep, rough voice, "It took an army to force me to my knees before that little instrument was discovered.  If I were to destroy it, no weapon forged could do me harm."
"Care to put a wager on that?" William shot the demon in the backside with an XD15. "We won't let it get to that."
The demon became angry and swatted William aside like a bug.  Kristina swung the golden sword at his head, hitting the demon's horns.  He smacked her into the wall, causing her to drop the sword.  Victor picked up the sword and tossed it to Akathla.  He snapped the blade in half and tossed it like a ball of cotton.  He picked up Victor and Malus and jetted out of the mansion.
The slayers all went back to the consul building.
"I saw it." Jason told Conselor Benson, "He snapped it in half like a twig."
"I am going to do research to find out if there are any other means to killing this creature.  You will all help." Conselor Benson pulled out a book.
"But there is no other means. " Kristina cut in, "No weapon forged."
"And to top it off, this is a third super power we're dealing with.  Dracula, Frankenstein, and now this guy."  William added.
Three days later, everyone had gone through twenty books by themselves.
"Well," William said to John while flipping through a book, "This book is like the demon alphabet, Akarthee to Zera.  Nothing helpful."
"Let me guess," John yawned, "No weapon forged, it took an army."
      "Yup."
"Wait!" Kristina shouted, "If that sword was blessed with a special type of magic, then bless another sword with the same magic, and voila!  Demon killer!"
"Well Kristine," Conselor Howard explained, "We would, but Aredemius did it.  She was probably the most powerful mortal that ever lived.  So there is no way to replicate her magic." Howard walked out of the consul library.
      "Great." Kristina sarcastically slumped.
Jason, who had been sleeping, raised his head in a hurry. "I've got it!"
"What?" John asked while throwing a book at the wall.
"Okay," Jason started, "Maybe some old weapons couldn't kill him, but maybe modern weapons can."
"What are you getting at?" William asked.
"Well, let's say you threw a lance into a battle tank, you're not gonna' wipe out s-t.  Now, let's say you threw a mortar into that same tank, well…"
"Jason!!" Kristina optimistically shouted, "You're a genius!!"
"I know." He said in a kidding manner.
Kristina kissed him on the forehead and ran to Benson's office.
"Howard!!" Kristina yelled to Conselor Benson, "You got a rocket?"
       "Why?" Howard asked.
"Jason just had the best idea, and I think it just might work.  We could blow Alfalfa up!!"
"It's Akathla, and you're right…that is a great idea." Howard agreed. "But we're out of rockets."  He started typing on his computer and sipping some coffee.  Abruptly, a beep was heard coming from the computer, "Yes!  I just found an English armory about a mile from here!!  It's government owned, so chances are it'll be overwhelmingly guarded.  You and William are going to sneak in."
       "Sure."
Kristina began to walk out of Howard's office when he called her back in.
"Kristine." He said while eyeing what she was wearing, "Wear something trashy-er." She stared at him for a second and walked out.
When she walked back into the library, she caught Jason sleeping on a pile of books and William and John arm wrestling.
       "What happened?" William asked.
"You and me have to break into an armory and steal a missile launcher."
       "When?" William continued.
       "Tomorrow." She answered.
"Why don't you go with me?" John asked out of the blue.
"Yeah I'll go with you." She changed partners.
The next night, Kristina and John sneaked into the armory to steal the rocket launcher.
"Kris, lately it seems as if you've been ignoring me." John said while sneaking past the gate.
"I'm sorry John," Kristina began, "It's just that lately, I've had to deal with a lot.  Last year, we faced a, well not a, the vampire.  Now he's back, he's more powerful than he was, and he's after my a-s for killing him.  On top of all that, now we have Frankenstein, a practically immortal thing, and Alfalfa the demon prince over there."
"I know what you mean." John said in a forgiving and lighthearted manner.
"Okay." She gave him a light kiss. "Let's go find that rocket."
They strolled into the armory after busting a small padlock.
"So much for overwhelmingly guarded." John said.  He began looking through some large wooden crates.
"Here it is." John said while peeking into the crate.
"Say bye-bye demon boy." Kristina said before picking the crate up.
The two returned to the consul in a hurry.
"What's Akathla up to?" William asked.
"He plans to swallow earth into hell." Howard explained.
       "How does he do that?"
"He must commit mass genocide and offer the souls to Lucifer."
"We'll get to him before that." Kristina said.
"Go to the Abbey." Howard ordered them.
       "Already on it."
At the Abbey, they found no one.
"Where could they be?" Jason pondered.
"I know where I'd go if I were gonna' kill a bunch of people." John brought up.
At the town center in London, Akathla had killed almost half the crowd, leaving the rest running around in horror.
"Stop it right there!!" Kristina yelled across the square over the screaming citizens.
"Who do you think you are girl?!" The demon Akathla thundered.
"Your slayer." Kristina busted open the wooden enclosure, and pulled out the rocket launcher.
"No weapon forged has the power to defeat me!!" Akathla laughed.
Kristina whispered to herself, "That was then, this is now."
